Jason Atkin

F2T Program Coordinator, IAFF

Background

Jason has served as a Health & Safety Specialist in the IAFF’s Health & Safety Operational Services Department since 2007. Before that, he worked as a wildland fire fighter for the Salt Lake County Fire Department and as a programs manager, personal trainer, and coach in several corporate and government facilities in Washington D.C. Jason received an Exercise & Sport Science degree from the University of Utah and was born and raised within a family of fire fighters in Salt Lake City. He currently coordinates the IAFF Wellness-Fitness Initiative’s Fit To Thrive Program. He is dedicated to the program’s mission to get more fire fighters, more active more often, and to develop evidence-based strategies and resources that provide practical methods for fire fighters to meet the mental and physical demands of their lives, on and off the job and long into retirement. He enjoys engaging directly with IAFF affiliates and their members to assist with their health, safety, and wellness-fitness programs.
