Lack of exercise partners and poor social support are commonly cited as two of the most significant barriers to exercise. And while everyone does not enjoy being active with others (exercise or otherwise), there is evidence to support the positive influence of group environments (physical, psychological and social). Whether working out with a small group of 2-3 peers or running a large group session for 25+ recruits, there are several considerations that could be made to leverage the benefits of a group environment and create a positive experience for all involved. This workshop will share a series of practical tips to structure group activities to facilitate collaboration and team building while improving fitness and having fun. Come prepared to be active with others!
This workshop involves active participation – attendees should come prepared to move and ensure they have approximately 25 sq/ft of open space in view of the camera. No specific equipment is required, but having access to bands and a dumbbell or kettlebell is recommended.
